John brings over three decades of hands-on construction experience and strategic leadership to his role as CEO. Entering the industry in 1993 as an Apprentice Carpenter, he has progressed through every layer of project delivery—from site execution to senior management—culminating in active involvement in a project portfolio exceeding $1 billion across Australia and the UK. His sector experience spans commercial, residential, industrial, health, hospitality, retail, heritage, and education.

Throughout his career, John has led teams in delivering projects under both traditional Hard Dollar Tenders and Public Private Partnerships (PPP), consistently driving value engineering through the construction phase while maintaining excellence in Safety, Quality, and Environmental performance. His leadership is defined by clarity, accountability, and a relentless focus on shared stakeholder outcomes.

John joined the business in 2009 and became part of North’s Senior Management Team in 2010, helping shape the company’s growth trajectory. In 2012, he joined an expanded shareholder group of five, and in 2019 played a pivotal role in North’s leadership transition and succession planning—stepping into the dual role of Head of Construction and Director.

In 2025, as part of North’s planned succession, John was appointed Chief Executive Officer, bringing his business acumen, deep operational insight, and cultural stewardship to the forefront of North’s strategic direction.
