I have had the pleasure of working with North construction from August 2019 till August 2020. I commenced this process as a first-time developer engaging North’s on the premise that they “Build with Trust”. 12 months on I can confidently say through experience this company does what is says.

Our development was not without some major unforeseen complications. Several could have taken out our ability to complete the project. North’s however worked with us every step of the way, coming up with solutions and working through issues to find the best outcome. I have had 100% confidence in North’s throughout this time. For me that TRUST is worth more than anything money can buy.

On behalf of HVGS I would like to formally thank North for delivering an outstanding building in the normal efficient and professional way we associate with them. I would like to thank yourself, Josh, Jarred and Nick for steering us to an a highly satisfactory end result and I would like to particularly thank Alex on a professional and personal level, for his hard work, communication and flexibility. He has managed this project with minimal fuss and has fitted in well with the HVGS ethos. It goes without saying we would love to work in partnership with North in the future.

The Mutual Bank entered into a construct only contract with North Construction & Building Pty Ltd in February 2019 to build and fitout the Mutual Bank’s Head Office administrative building at 6 Mitchell Drive, East Maitland.

North were selected through a competitive tender process that included a presentation demonstrating their construction methodology, professionalism and building with trust which have held true throughout the delivery of our new head office building. North’s approach to the construction of this complex project was well structured and the project team have been meticulous, always demanding excellence from themselves and their subcontractors. The standard of finish being delivered, both internally and externally has certainly met and exceeded our original expectation.

I have no hesitation in recommending North Construction & Building for your project as I consider their professionalism, budget management, quality of work and safety standards will deliver the right outcome.

Personally I have found them to be a great group of people who always demonstrated they had our interest at top of mind and worked tirelessly to deliver our beautiful new building.

North was engaged by the Central Coast Community Care Association and APP to carry out refurbishments to and extensions of the Killarney Court Aged Care Facility following a competitive tender in late 2016.

At all times, the North team managed the site in a safe and tidy manner, truly delivering on one of their key promises to allow CCCCA staff and residents to operate in a 'business as usual' manner.

dwp was engaged by Opal Aged Care for the design of the Opal Hillside Residential Aged Care Facility, Mount Hutton. Opal Aged Care elected to deliver this project under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) agreement with North Construction & Building appointed as the ECI partner. dwp worked with North through design development of the 120-Bed $24.7m RACF. The project was over budget, and dwp was involved in a detailed value engineering session facilitated by North.

The design team worked together to achieve the target budget and was then novated to North for the construction of the Newcastle Master Builders Association and Australian Institute of Architect’s award-winning building.

dwp can highly recommend North as a builder with high standards for quality, budget, safety and programme. The North team at Opal Hillside dealt with challenging site constraints and delivered an excellent product for the client. We look forward to working with them again in the near future.

North's commitment and input at client and consultant ECI & value engineering meetings has exceeded the Catholic Diocese Maitland-Newcastle's expectations and the technical expertise and professionalism of attending staff, as well as project delivery with other CDMN construction projects has ensured North's success to date with the Catherine McAuley project.

Jackson Teece were engaged as Architects and Superintendent by Regis and I was the Director-inCharge dealing directly with all North staff including their Directors, Estimators, Project Managers and Site Foreman on a daily basis. North was selected as the successful builder on both price and non-price criteria. North demonstrated a collaborative approach from the outset, including assisting in the resolution of a redesign to address a challenging engineering issue affecting a complete wing of the building. During the construction we found North’s team led by Josh Sheather and Dan Surridge to be honest and proactive in problem solving, certainly delivering on their stated purpose of Building with Trust.

During the time that I have worked closely with North, I have been particularly impressed with the level of professionalism and the degree of dedication that they bring to each project. They are very meticulous, organised and thorough in their approach to construction. Their team sets the
highest standards of workmanship and will not accept anything less from their sub-contractors. I have found them to be practically minded and will often suggest alternative approaches to an element
of the design, with a view to building it in a more efficient or economic way, without compromising the design intent.

The team has delivered an excellent project on one of the most challenging access sites imaginable and we would not hesitate to recommend North for any future project

North Construction & Building was engaged by Central Coast Council in 2017 following a traditional hard dollar tender to construct the Tuggerah Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex which consisted of establishing nine playing fields (including one premier field), car parking for 450 vehicles, bus drop off facilities, an amenities facility, landscaping, floodlighting and intensive drainage and irrigation works on an 18 hectare site.

North demonstrated a collaborative approach from the outset, including assisting in the resolution of design. Throughout construction we found North’s team to be open, honest and relational. The team has delivered an excellent project and we would not hesitate to recommend North for any future project.

The strength of North's is its people. The open, honest and inclusive approach, from Managing Director level down, gave me - as the client - the utmost confidence that the job would be completed as per their plan. Everyone at the company is highly professional, accessible and focused on achieving the best result for the client.

I have had the pleasure of working with North Construction & Building Pty Ltd for over 10 years on numerous projects for St Philips Christian College on their various campuses around the lower Hunter Region.

I have found them to be well organised, thorough and highly professional in their dealings, from tender negotiations right through to handing over of the finished product. North exhibit a consistently high level of control over the construction process including all of the necessary paperwork, compliance with relevant safety standards, co-ordination of the various activities of trades on site and ensuring a high standard of workmanship is achieved.

North Construction & Building has a long history and solid relationship with the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (CDMN), having delivered a number of our large and smaller scale education projects over the past 20 years. 

The latest project North was engaged to construct for the CDMN was at our Rosary Park Primary School at Branxton. This stage of works involved repairs to the existing administration building, construction of two single storey classroom buildings each containing four general
learning areas and new toilet facilities, and extensive hard and soft landscaping.

North are experienced in the education sector and extremely skilled working efficiently and safely in live school environments in and amongst students, staff, parents and other campus stakeholders. This project was built during term so included challenges North was well-placed
to address and overcome.

The communication from the North’s site team on this project was second to none. They developed great rapport with our school principal and the project architect. This collaborative dynamic meant that design related matters could be efficiently resolved.  This project had the added complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was clear from the outset that North was across the ever-changing landscape at the time, increasing safety requirements and implementing additional protocols and procedures quickly and effectively to keep their sites, people and clients safe. They cannot be faulted in this regard and our project was able to continue moving forward as a result.

From a customer service perspective, North is an example to the industry of how to manage client expectations and questions. From site foremen to company directors, North staff is accessible and courteous. They take the time to explain to the client what is happening with the project, and whether there is a more appropriate and/or cost effective way to proceed.

The project comprised of upgrading an existing camping / caravan site and Koala rescue clinic to include for a new Tourist Centre, Koala Clinic, Glamping tent sites, upgrades to carparks, roads and paths with some light landscaping around the new installations. These works were successfully undertaken whilst maintaining operations to the existing Koala Clinic throughout construction. There were open lines of communication throughout construction. North understood our needs and were conscious of the complexities working around injured and sick koalas.  Port Stephens Koalas engaged North direct to undertake the fit-out component of the Koala Clinic. I worked closely with North during this fit-out phase. I had a specific budget to maintain and North demonstrated a cooperative approach from the outset, including assisting in the resolution of design to ensure my budget was met without compromising the needs of the Clinic. 

Throughout the ECI and during construction, North demonstrated their relational approach to contracting, attention to detail, quality and safety. From the initial meeting, North had presented an "open book"
approach to ECI, throughout their transparency was apparent, and they certainly delivered on their promise
of being a "Trusted Building Partner".

The construction process was very smooth which we attribute to the collective hard work the team put into
the project through the upfront ECI process.

At all times North delivered on its promise of building with trust and has met and exceeded our hopes for an ECI partner. 

In construction, North's team has delivered to an extraordinarily short programme, including addressing unexpected challenges on site associated with repurposing an existing large retail space inside an operational shopping centre into a school.

I can recommend North as a trusted ECI and building partner for any client pursuing this form of project delivery and we look forward to building again with North in the future.
