North is dedicated to providing long-term careers and, as such, has a training and development environment in sync with the company’s strategic direction. This includes a history of investing in work placements, trade apprenticeships and cadetships which contributes to the pool of future North employees and strengthens the overall construction industry.

We recognise the value of developing new and existing employees by offering an apprenticeship program. At North we have a dedicated Apprentice Manager to mentor and coach our apprentices as they progress through their program. Many of our current site foremen started their building careers as apprentices with North.

North has partnered with the University of Newcastle since 2011 inviting students who have just completed their first year of Construction Management to apply for a paid summer internship. Aiming to find our future leaders, the successful candidate/s spend the next four years in a structured program working 12 months in Estimating, Project Management/Project Administration and Site Management with their final year more tailored to the discipline they are most interested in pursuing. Applicants from other universities are welcome to apply.
