Matthew became Executive Chairman of North in January 2025, continuing to provide leadership and strategic direction of the business. Transitioning from his role as Managing Director which he has held since January 2019, overseeing all strategic, financial and organisational operations of the business.

Matthew has been a Director of the business since 2008. Driven by the understanding that open and honest communication is key to both successful projects and in turn a healthy, growing business, Matthew focuses on strong relationships among all stakeholders. With extensive hands on project management experience, Matthew actively leads and mentors teams through excellent communication and stakeholder engagement. His experience is under-pinned by a strong emphasis on culture and ensures a coherent, innovative and results-oriented focus for all units of the business.

Commencing in the industry in 1993, Matthew’s construction experience spans roles from CAD drafting, estimating, contracts administration and project management. Matthew has experience in commercial, industrial and institutional projects ranging in value beyond $50m and procured through various means of traditional hard dollar tender to D&C and ECI or construction management. Matthew has been with the business since 2001 and is a shareholder.
