North Construction were engaged to undertake the refurbishment of the Marine Sciences Lab at the University of Newcastle’s Ourimbah Campus. The works included the construction of a new wet area room with marine grade stainless steel benches and fittings, the installation of a fume extraction system and a new suspended ceiling which raked up to an existing bank of louvered windows to allow natural light and ventilation throughout the room. With the short programme and despite a number of items having long lead times North were able to complete the works and handover the projects prior to the Universities Christmas Shutdown period.
