A Year in Review – North Construction & Building

As 2018 draws to a close, it’s great to not only look back and reflect on all the achievements made but also to look forward with excitement at next year’s opportunities. North Construction & Building has had one of the best years since its start in 1987. The company has delivered multiple iconic projects throughout the Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Northern Sydney regions over the past 12 months and is set to continue this trend moving into 2019. Also making the past year one of the best for North is the number of prestigious awards it has taken home.

North picked up three awards at the Annual Newcastle Master Builders Association Awards; was named one of the University of Newcastle’s Most Valued Partners at their 2018 Student Engagement Awards; and was awarded 2018 Medium Employer of the Year at the Australian Training Awards – a national honour with a highly competitive and rigorous judging process.

‘It’s with great pride that I look back on this year’s achievements,’ states Tim Cornish, North Managing Director. ‘Everyone across the business has worked hard to deliver great results for clients, subcontractors and staff across projects, systems, training, professional development and community outreach.’

The way ahead for this well-respected and trusted commercial construction company looks bright. With the transition of the managing director role from Tim Cornish to Matthew Cook at the end of the month, North will be entering new and exciting times in 2019.

‘With North’s shareholder base increasing to 12, all of whom are employees of the business, we are heading into the New Year with refreshed energy and a continued focus on excellence,’ remarked Matthew Cook North Director and Incoming Managing Director. ‘Our efforts will focus on further cementing ourselves as the leader in health, aged care, and education construction and expanding our presence in clubs, hospitality, and sports and recreation markets.’

As North moves into its next chapter, commitment to clients, subcontractors and employees will remain steadfast with the corporate culture remaining as the foundation on which the entire business is supported. It will continue to be what is built on with every project and every client as the company lives its corporate promise … Building with trust.
