The construction of the new 80 bed retirement facility and separate commercial kitchen marks the start of Calvary Retirement Community Cessnock’s new master plan for the site at Wine Country Drive, Cessnock.
Site preparations for the new work required the demolition of three separate buildings and extensive civil work to permit the entire 80 bed retirement facility to be built on the one level. This provided easy access through the building by both residents and staff, while maintaining the pleasant outlook over the central oval. The building consisted of a series of raft slabs, brick veneer construction and colorbond roofs. Inside the building the high level of finish and attention to detail are obvious and help add to the overall homely feel of the facility.
Construction of a high-tech $1.8m central processing kitchen was negotiated as a variation to the main contract.
