As the showcase for Gosford Councils $75m capital works program, this project was always going to be under the close scrutiny of the local community and the council officers.
The new building houses two galleries, a retail shop, a cafe, a restaurant and all the associated amenities and services. As a public building, a high standard of finishes were required by both the client and the superintendent.
The construction site was of a sensitive nature, as it was bounded by the existing Arts Centre, the Japanese Gardens, Brisbane Waters, and local residents. Despite these constraints, the building project was delivered within the contract time, and within budget.
