After being almost completely destroyed by fire, North Construction & Building was given the opportunity to restore this 60+ year old, sandstone cellar door to its former glory. Originally detailed with double skinned sandstone block walls and roof framing constructed on site from stick timber, North worked closely with the client to devise alternate materials and construction methodologies that dramatically reduced both the overall cost of the project and length of the construction programme. This resulted in a building that captures the juxtaposition of the original, heritage-style exterior with a bullnose verandah awning and the ultra-modern, sleek interior fitout that the client desired.
