Project Details

The construction of new offices and warehouse for St Vincent de Paul at Wyong were the result of a fire that had occurred in the previous year. An initial budget was prepared for St Vincent de Paul which was then converted to Fixed Lump Sum due to the structure being founded in some very poor ground which required great detail in the planning and execution of footings.

The project was constructed using a combination of many typical methods of construction (Slab on ground, Ultrafloor, Precast Concrete. Structural Steel and Timber Frame) which required thorough communication and coordination with subcontractors during the initial phases of shop drawings and off site fabrication. All major components were integrated seamlessly without any need for on site modifications.

The major challenge faced during the project was the exposure to an exceptionally wet period that combined with poor foundations necessitated much haste with civil and ground works to m minimise risk and exposure to the elements. The car park sub grade required lime stabilising and profiling which was completed on site and in tight proximity to the completed structure without damage or complication.

The construction of the Wyong office was the third project completed for St Vincent de Paul and continued to cement an ongoing relationship with the Broken Bay Diocese with whom we received outstanding feedback and commendations to the quality of the build, the flow of construction and the ongoing communication with the client.
