Project Details

The MBA award-winning Tuggerah Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex consisted of establishing nine playing fields (including one premier field), car parking for 450 vehicles, bus drop off facilities, an amenities facility, landscaping, floodlighting and intensive drainage and irrigation works on an 18 hectare site.

The project had a monumental task of sourcing and importing approx. 140,000m3 of fill to raise the levels over the site by on average 1.2m to enable the development to be feasible. At peak a truck & dog with fill entered site on average every 3 minutes equating to 5,000m3 of fill entering site per day. As each field was filled, works commenced on the irrigation services and establishment of the playing surfaces.

The result is a state of the art sporting complex large enough to host mass participation sporting events on the Central Coast.
