This project involved extension of the Jonquil dementia accommodation wing to provide seven additional beds with modifications to the entry and provision for an extended dining area, sun room and external works. Due to the nature of working in and around an operational dementia facility there were many challenges during construction. The primary focus throughout the project was always the safety, security and comfort of residents and staff. Staging the works to minimise interruption to general activities along with detailed planning and daily conversations with operational staff ensured minimal disruption to residents.
Adjacent existing buildings required us to negotiate assess through a neighbouring property to reduce impact of construction on the remainder of the facility.
