Marist College North Sydney

Client: Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church

VAlue: $3,100,000

Project Details

Situated opposite North Sydney Oval in Miller Street, construction on this site was never going to be easy. The contract called for the construction of two separate buildings, both within the existing school grounds, with the only access being through the pupils playground areas.

The first building has technics teaching areas on the ground floor and an auditorium, stage, tiered seating and facilities on the first floor. The second, a Creative Arts facility, with arts teaching areas on the ground floor and a cricket practice area on the trafficable roof.

The limited access combined with several layers of footings from long demolished earlier construction on the site and the re-routing and enlarging of a major North Sydney Council stormwater main from under the new buildings made for some interesting moments during construction.
